Teacher Talk Tuesday...Instagram Style

http://instagram.com/peacelovekinder#

A few weeks ago, I took a 30 minute technology class after school.  The topic was Instagram and I was very excited about it.  I opened a personal and classroom Instagram account.  Now, I'm linking up to share photos, some personal and some school. Check us out on Instagram every Tuesday!

Jump Rope Freebie

I found these jump ropes at the dollar store today and I wanted to give them as student gifts.  So I wrote a little rhyme and uploaded it to TPT for free.  Click on the photo.   Enjoy!

Poof! It's a Fairy Tale Journal!

Our fairly tale unit is beginning next week and I needed a journal!  Sooooo....POOF!  I created  a fairy tale journal that I'll use for organizing my students' writing, including a castle craft! The journal has a cover page, story element comparison chart, a "beginning of the story" and "end of story" page. Patterns and instructions for the castle are included. In our class, we focus on four main fairy tales, The Princess and the Pea, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel. Then, for each story, copy the summary page, beginning and ending sheets. The chart and pages are generic so the journal can be used with any fairy tale. Click on the photo and check it out!

Fact Family Houses

Let's practice math fact families!  The fact houses can be used as part of math workstations or whole group practice. Check out the fact family houses posted to TPT for SMARTBoard. They go with the word family houses posted last month.

Story Chain for Leo the Late Bloomer

I've been trying to figure out something fun for my students to create with story elements...so I came up with Story Chains. On each link, the students can write or illustrate the various elements...setting, character, beginning, middle, end.  The students are using the chains for retelling and I'm using their chains for comprehension and writing assessments.  This chain is based on Leo the Late Bloomer by: Robert Kraus.  I LOVE this story! It's so sweet and many of my kinders can really relate to Leo's struggles. Check it out on TPT.  Check back soon for Knuffle Bunny Story Chain.
